The traditional Eco-tourism Festival "Rozhyschenska Malyovanka" will be held the fifth years running (since 2005) in urban village Dubysche of the Volyn region with the assistance of Volyn Region State Administration. Many public institutions, organizations and enterprises will participate in this grandiose event. This festival was created on the common initiative of the state, public and business elite of the region Volyn to satisfy the following requirements of the region communities and people:
· maintenance, restoration and enrichment of the region cultural heritage;
· activation of commercial activity in the region selling products of folk craftsmen
· rise in region social and economic standards
· stimulation of Eco-tourism development in the region
· activation of applied arts improvement in the region.
Nowadays the Eco-tourism Festival "Rozhyschenska Malyovanka" is a traditional annual holiday for most people not only from town Rozhysche, but from the whole region Volyn. Vivid local colour, rich ethnic and cultural heritage and unique landscape peculiarities of this town located almost in the center of the region Volyn are really key factors, which attract all society layers from all over the country and from abroad too to take part in this festival.
Rozhysche is geographically situated near the river Styr, 22 km far from the regional center – Lutsk, the town is crossed by the roads of the international and European importance, and it causes convenient traffic interchange and increases tourist and economic attractiveness of the region. District center has 8 historic memorials, which average age is 150 – 200 years, Rozhysche has developed social and cultural infrastructure and many centers of folk arts and crafts workshops integrated and united by one unique history and national values.
At the same time, because of the deepening urbanization and integration processes there are increasing differences in cultural, social and economic standards between the district and regional centers; aging processes are progressing, all this changes lead to the disastrous slowdown of rural economic development and the decline of the ethnic and cultural heritage. Enormous centralization of state power and the absence of a balanced region development policy lead to lack of financial, human resources and stipulate limiting economic activity in the region.
Today it is very important for stimulation and support of district Rozhyshche development to conduct some systematic trade fairs, exhibitions, concerts and educational activities aimed at activation all these spheres of life in the region. In terms of the last experience in holding the Eco-tourism Festival “Rozhyschenska Malyovanka”, involvement of inhabitances in the cultural, commercial and tourist activity influences the maintenance, restoration and enrichment of the traditional for this country bright colors in applied and folk art, the common public activity improves in that time.
Goals / project tasks:
1. Supporting Eco-tourism conducting information campaigns and spreading positive experience of its implementation through the participants;
2. Improving social activity and business initiatives;
3. Founding the trade basis for selling applied art items;
4. Motivation of cultural and educational development creating volunteering standing folk art departments;
5. Activation of ethnic folk art and its popularization in Ukraine and abroad.
